Praslin 7-Day Itinerary: The Ultimate Slow Travel Guide

Travel Smarter: Discover why staying a full week on Praslin is the best way to find the true soul of the Seychelles.

Looking for the perfect Praslin 7-day itinerary? Most travelers make the mistake of rushing through the island in just two or three days. We decided to do things differently. By choosing a “Slow Travel” approach and staying for a full week, we discovered that Praslin is the perfect middle ground between the busy Mahé and the tiny La Digue. It is an island of prehistoric jungles, world-class beaches, and a laid-back Creole vibe that you simply cannot experience if you are in a hurry.

If you are a “Comfort Adventurer” who wants to escape the noise and explore at your own pace, this 7-day blueprint is for you. But before you hit the road, make sure to read our essential guide[15 Crucial Things You MUST Know Before You Land in Seychelles] to avoid hidden costs and border stress.

Your 7-Day Praslin "Slow Travel" Blueprint

Day 1: Arrival & The Vibe of Côte d’Or

After landing at the tiny Praslin airport or arriving by ferry at Baie Sainte Anne, pick up your rental car immediately. Head to Anse Volbert (Côte d’Or), the heart of the island. Spend your first afternoon walking barefoot on the long stretch of shallow turquoise water to sink into “island time.”

  • Our Tips:

    • Skip the Taxi Trap: A taxi transfer can cost as much as a full day of car rental. Having your own wheels from the start is the smartest logistical move.

    • First Dinner: Go straight to Leo’s Food Bus. Their fresh tuna burger is legendary and much better than expensive hotel food.

Day 2: Jungle Treks & 360° Views

Start your morning with the Glacis Noire Trail. This hike takes you through the lush interior and rewards you with a stunning view over the neighbouring islands of La Digue and Curieuse. It’s the perfect way to understand the island’s geography.

  • Our Tip: Wear proper shoes. Even though the trail isn’t very long, the humidity makes the rocks slippery and the ground muddy.

Day 3: The Battle of the Giants (Anse Lazio vs. Anse Georgette)

Today is about the two most beautiful beaches on earth. Start early (before 9:00 AM) at Anse Lazio to enjoy the granite boulders before the crowds arrive. In the afternoon, head to Anse Georgette for a wilder, more secluded experience and a world-class sunset.

  • Our Tip: Accessing Anse Georgette by land requires a booking through the Constance Lemuria resort. Ask your guesthouse manager to book your time slot at least 48 hours in advance to ensure you get in.

Day 4: Marine Expedition (Curieuse & St. Pierre)

Swap the car for a boat today. We took a day trip to the Curieuse Island Marine National Park, and it was one of the highlights of our stay. We spent the morning walking through the mangrove forests and meeting the free-roaming giant tortoises, followed by a delicious Creole BBQ right on the beach. In the afternoon, we headed to St. Pierre Island, a tiny granite outcrop that looks like a movie set, for some incredible snorkeling.

We highly recommend booking with [Angel Tours]. Our guide was fantastic—passionate, knowledgeable about the local ecosystem, and made sure everyone had a great time. The boat was comfortable, and the whole trip felt well-organized from start to finish.

  • Our Tips:

    • The mandatory government fee for the Marine Park is approx. €20 (300 SCR). This is usually NOT included in the tour price, so have your Visa card ready to pay the rangers upon arrival at Curieuse.

    • Bring your own high-quality snorkeling mask if you have one, although Angel Tours provides gear if needed.

Day 5: The Smart Alternative (Fond Ferdinand)

While everyone flocks to the crowded Vallée de Mai, we recommend Fond Ferdinand instead. It is six times larger, significantly cheaper, and the price includes an excellent local guide. The trail leads you through a dense forest of Coco de Mer palms and ends at a summit with the best panoramic view of the entire archipelago.

  • Our Tip: Start the hike between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM. The climb to the top is steep, and you want to finish before the midday tropical heat hits.

Day 6: Coconut Magic & Sunset Heights

Visit the Virgin Coconut Oil Factory in Grand Anse. It’s a small, passionate family business where you can see how “Garden of Eden” oil is cold-pressed. Afterward, drive up to the Zimbabwe Viewpoint, the highest accessible point on Praslin, for a final look over the green canopy and the ocean.

  • Our Tip: You MUST try the Coconut Jam at the factory. We became instantly obsessed with it—it’s the perfect authentic souvenir to bring home.

Day 7: Savoring the Last Moments

Spend your final morning at Anse Boudin, a quiet spot perfect for a final snorkel. Visit the local market to stock up on spices and vanilla before heading back to the ferry terminal or airport.

Smart Logistics for Praslin:

  • Rental Car is King: Do not rely on buses if you have luggage. Buses have a strict ban on large bags and suitcases. Rent a small car (like a Kia Picanto) to navigate the narrow roads and bypass expensive taxi costs.

  • The 2026 Tax Win: If you stay in a small guesthouse (under 24 rooms), you are exempt from the Tourism Environmental Levy. This saves you a lot of money compared to large resorts.

  • Bus Connectivity: For light day trips, use the Visitor Travel Card for buses. They no longer accept cash, so buy your card at the airport or port upon arrival.

  • Best Takeaways: For the best Octopus Curry, head to Village Take Away in Grand Anse. For evening vibes and vegan-friendly options, Zilwa Reggae Bar is the place to be.
