Ready for the ultimate Corfu road trip? Corfu is one of the greenest islands in Greece, and the best way to see its rugged beauty is on two or four wheels. This 7-day itinerary is designed for active travelers who want to skip the typical resort experience and find the most spectacular landscapes in the north and center of the island.

To fully enjoy this route, we highly recommend renting a car or a powerful scooter, as many of these spots are far from the main bus lines.

Your 7-Day Corfu Road Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Paxos, Antipaxos, and the Blue Caves

Start the week with a boat adventure. Take a trip to the neighboring islands of Paxos and Antipaxos. You will explore the famous Blue Caves and swim in the turquoise waters of Antipaxos, which often look more like the Caribbean than Europe. The day usually ends with a stroll through the charming port of Gaios.

Our Tip: Book a smaller boat tour if you can. Large ferries cannot enter the caves as deeply as smaller boats, and the experience is much more personal.

Day 2: The Iconic West Coast

This is a high-energy day focused on the Paleokastritsa region. Start with the hike to the double bay of Porto Timoni, accessible from the traditional village of Afionas. Later, visit the Angelokastro fortress and enjoy the famous views from Belvedere Paleokastritsa. End your day at the quiet Rovinia Beach.

Our Tip: The hike to Porto Timoni is rocky and can be very hot. Start before 9:00 AM to secure a parking spot in Afionas and beat the midday sun.

Day 3: From Golden Beaches to the Highest Peak

Spend the morning at Glyfada Beach, then drive to the Kaiser William II Observatory for a 360-degree view of the island. Finish the day by driving to the summit of Mount Pantokrator. At 906 meters, it is the highest point on Corfu, offering views all the way to Albania.

Our Tip: The road to Pantokrator is very narrow and has many hairpin turns. If you are on a scooter, ensure it is at least 200cc; a standard 50cc or 125cc engine might struggle with the steep climb.

Day 4: Cliffs and the Far North

Head north to the Troumpetas Viewpoint for a panoramic start. Then, visit the iconic Canal D’Amour and Apotripiti Beach. The highlight of the day is Cape Drastis, followed by a sunset at Loggas Beach, where giant cliffs meet the sea.

Our Tip: Loggas Beach has a glass skywalk at the top of the cliff. It is the perfect spot for sunset photos, but it can get crowded, so arrive at least 30 minutes before the sun goes down.

Day 5 & 6: The Venetian Soul of Corfu Town (Kerkyra)

Dedicate two days to the capital. Corfu Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site filled with narrow Venetian streets (kantounia), old fortresses, and vibrant squares. Explore the Old Town, visit the Liston Promenade, and enjoy the local cuisine in the hidden tavernas.

Our Tip: Parking in the center is a nightmare. Park your vehicle in the large lot near the Port or the San Rocco square and walk into the historic district to avoid getting stuck in traffic.

Day 7: History and the Best View of the Runway

Visit the peaceful Mon Repos estate, where Prince Philip was born. End your trip at Kanoni, the most photographed spot on the island. You can see the Vlacherna Monastery and watch planes land just meters above your head as they approach the runway.

Our Tip: Use a flight-tracking app like FlightRadar24. This way, you can time your visit to Kanoni perfectly to catch the most dramatic aircraft landings.

Smart Logistics for Corfu:

The Transmission Choice: Like in many Mediterranean spots, an automatic car is a huge advantage here. The hills are steep and the traffic in Corfu Town can be heavy; you will appreciate not having to shift gears constantly.
Road Conditions: Many roads in the north are narrow and the asphalt can be very slippery, even when it’s not raining. Take your time and keep a safe distance.
Scooter Parking: While cars offer AC, scooters are “parking kings” on Corfu. In places like Paleokastritsa or Corfu Town, you can park a scooter almost anywhere for free, while cars may have to wait for a spot.
